Having seen through the successful integration of the Werner & Pfleiderer, Waeschle and Buss company groups under the umbrella of Coperion, Dr. Hans-Jörg Pfeiffer, President of the Executive Board of Coperion Holding GmbH, Konstanz (Germany) and Head of the Georg Fischer Corporation’s Plant Engineering Group, will retire at the end of August on reaching the age of 64. Hans-Jörg Pfeiffer has declared his willingness to put his industrial experience at the disposal of Coperion and Georg Fischer as an external consultant.

On the morning of Wednesday, June 19, Manfred Wolf, a member of the Executive Board of Coperion Holding GmbH, Konstanz (Germany), unexpectedly died of a sudden heart attack at the age of 64. He passed away while taking part in a meeting for the Coperion Group, the Plant Engineering Group of the Georg Fischer Corporation.

GF Piping Systems, a division of GF, is to acquire a stake of 49% of Urecon Ltd., Coteau-du-Lac (Quebec, Canada), a specialist of pre-insulated piping systems for freeze protection and chilled water.

A Large-scale International Exhibition, namely 2014 FlowEx China, will be held at Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center (SWEECC) from June 25th, 2014 to June 27th, 2014. The Exhibition, which holds a capacity audience of more than 23,000, would be hosted in an area of 30,000 square meters. GF Piping Systems now presents an innovative diaphragm valve that is exciting not only for its many ingenious ideas but also for its energy-saving features.

GF Piping Systems will invest a total of CHF 21 million in its Schaffhausen location in order to expand distribution and production. About CHF 14 million of this amount will be invested in expanding the current distribution centre and improving its efficiency, while CHF 7 million will be set aside to increase manufacturing capacity of plastic products in the Schaffhausen plant.
